AdaptNI Acknowledges Laura Lyttle’s Nomination for Advancing Diversity & Inclusion Advocate Award

AdaptNI is honoured to acknowledge the recent Advancing Diversity & Inclusion Advocate award nomination for Laura Lyttle, an exceptional Employment Support Officer with the organisation. While Laura was not shortlisted for this year’s award, her invaluable contributions are recognised and deeply appreciated by the AdaptNI team, Advisory Board, and the communities she serves.

Laura joined AdaptNI in July 2023, bringing with her a profound commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion, particularly within the Deaf, hearing loss, and tinnitus communities in Northern Ireland. Despite the personal challenges she faces as a Deaf-blind individual, Laura has consistently broken barriers to positively impact those around her, creating more inclusive environments and promoting equity and respect for all.

One of her most notable achievements is her work on the SkillSET NI project, where she has supported individuals to build confidence, apply for, and gain sustainable employment. Through this initiative, Laura has not only raised awareness about critical diversity and inclusion issues but also implemented meaningful solutions that have made a lasting difference in the lives of those she supports.

Beyond her core duties, Laura continually advocates for the communities she works with, creating and sharing accessible materials and adding value to every interaction with clients and stakeholders. Her passion for inclusion extends beyond her professional role, inspiring others to champion diversity and become advocates in their own right.

AdaptNI Director Alex, expressed the organisation's pride in Laura's achievements:"Laura embodies the values of diversity and inclusion that we hold dear at AdaptNI. Her dedication, resilience, and ability to inspire those around her are truly remarkable. While she may not have been shortlisted this year, we are incredibly proud of her nomination and the significant difference she continues to make in the lives of the people and communities we support."

Laura’s teamwork and advocacy are a testament to her passion for creating a more inclusive and equitable society, and her work remains an essential part of AdaptNI’s mission to support people who are Deaf, have hearing loss, and/or tinnitus across Northern Ireland.
