Success for all completing the Antrim and Newtownabbey LMP Course

AdaptNI, in partnership with the Antrim and Newtownabbey Labour Market Partnership are currently providing Specialist employment support “Bridging the Gap” to the Deaf, hearing loss and Tinnitus communities throughout the Borough. This 3-month project included an opportunity for clients to complete an accredited training course, BED and AED, Level 2. (Basic life support and automated external defibrillator)


Labour Market Partnerships, which create targeted employment action plans for council areas, are funded by the Department for Communities, and allow for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work. On 15th February AdaptNI and Trainsafe supported 3 Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough council residents to complete the course and achieve the accreditation in Antrim Civic Centre.


Alex Leslie, AdaptNI Director, “Our first training has been a great success, with all who completed the course now certified with a level 2 qualification. At the training we had two interpreters and two notetakers, along with a Deaf aware trainer ensuring equal access and understanding for everyone taking part.”

Bridging the Gap will support people throughout the AN Borough area with; CV building, job searching, interview prep, support to change career or increase your hours, support to access further education and include an accredited training qualification for participants.
