Tinnitus Awareness Week 2025
Flashing the Alarm for Inclusive Tinnitus Care
3rd–9th February 2025
Tinnitus Awareness Week 2025 highlights the urgent need for improved tinnitus care across the UK. The newly released Tinnitus UK report highlights the urgent need for improved tinnitus care across the UK. Tinnitus UK’s findings confirm unacceptable delays for ENT referrals, outdated assessment techniques, and a critical lack of specialist training for audiologists, reinforcing the growing tinnitus care crisis."

While these issues affect many, AdaptNI is flashing the alarm for profoundly Deaf BSL and ISL users who experience debilitating tinnitus. Too often, tinnitus solutions focus on sound-based therapies—excluding those who rely on sign language. It’s time for a new approach.

A Community Facing an Uncertain Future
AdaptNI was set up on 1st July 2022 to bridge the gap in specialist pre- and in-work support services when the only Northern Ireland provider closed. Now, the Deaf, hearing loss, and tinnitus communities face yet another period of uncertainty—ironically, as the BSL and ISL Bill progresses through Stormont. Without sustainable investment in tailored support post March 2025 is without specialist service.
AdaptNI is calling for:
✔️ Research into tinnitus in profoundly Deaf individuals.
✔️ Accessible, non-audio-based support solutions.
✔️ Specialist training to meet BSL/ISL users’ needs.
Join the conversation and demand action this Tinnitus Awareness Week.

A technique that is regarded as both safe and effective is Sound Therapy. Sound therapy is the use of background noise to distract the brain’s attention away from the tinnitus and onto a more ‘friendly’ sound. Tinnitus UK has independently reviewed a new wearable device, made in Britain, called a TinniSoothe.
It is the world’s only sound generator that can be worn throughout the day, without the need for anything in or around the ears. TinniSoothe retails at £365 on their Shop at https://tinnisoothe.com/ and they offer a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Throughout February, you can buy one for £292 by using our exclusive 20% discount code ADAPT20 at checkout.
